Despite the low-blow bummer with the apartment (that came Saturday morning) I had an awesome time in Boston. The fun part: being a laid-back tourist. I'm not one that can rush around frantically trying to cram in as much as possible into that one trip. Took it easy.
Did do:
1. Freedom Trail - The tour guide was a History teacher, very enthusiastic, and too cool.
2. Riverside Fair - Walked along the Charles River and went gaga over the local artisan stalls. Did chalk drawings on the cordoned off road like a crazy kid. Waited too long in line for a pottery session, and gave up. Bought a bell that actually said something very witty (should update).
3. Downtown - Nightlife, shopping, Food (obviously) and Ice Cream, Quincy Market
4. LAL-Celtics game: Woohoo.
5. Walked the hallowed halls of MIT, Vassar St. Wow, what a student center.
Planned, but rained out:
1. Cape Cod beaches
2. Jet Ski-ing.
Learnt:
1. Sam Adams is NOT a beer, but the Father of the American Revolution.
2. The face on Sam Adams bottle is disputed, but is actually Paul Revere.
3. Listen my children and you shall hear, Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere
4. Boston is old, Boston is swampland for the major part.
5. A new recipe for Veg Biryani from Sugee (yay!)
That wrapped up the Boston Tour.
Now for Philly a couple of weekends down the line.
